This award-winning 6.4 oz NFPA 701 fire rated warp knit polyester fabric is our most environmentally friendly printing material. Made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, this premium European dye sub fabric offers excellent print quality, color depth and wrinkle resistance. It's REACH compliant, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and 100% recyclable. It's an excellent fabric for banners, SEG displays, POP and retail displays, trade show exhibits, backdrops and even fine art. Available in widths up to 102"
Approximate longevity of 5-20 years indoors, 6 months outdoors.
Favorite Features
The fact that this material is so eco-friendly and provides a way to re-use plastic bottles is great, but unlike some other eco-friendly materials, there's no real trade off in choosing this option. It offers color and image quality that is as good or better than any other fabric.
Drawbacks
It can fray, so it should be hemmed or trimmed with a hot knife. It's not opaque so light from behind will show through. Like other European fabrics, it's more expensive than some of the other options that are appropriate for similar uses.
Best Applications
This material is great for SEG displays, fabric pop ups, banner systems and pillowcase style graphics with a zipper.
Dye sublimated fabrics are printed with a process where ink becomes part of the fabric, so it's impossible to damage the print without damaging the fabric as well. This also makes the resulting print washable. If necessary, it should be washed in warm water on a delicate cycle, and dried using a permanent press setting. It can be steamed or ironed using a low temperature setting for delicate polyesters. If used on a frame system, it's recommended that the fabric be installed on the frame to air dry so that it doesn't shrink.
