Contender retractable banner stands have a compact base with single swing out foot for stability. They are made of strong extruded aluminum for dependable use, and the stylish shape and optional taller pole has made them a popular model for many years. Available in a black finish, it's often incorrectly claimed that this stand is made in America. It's actually assembled in the USA, which is something most other stands cannot claim, but that's not the same thing as being made in America. We like to provide accurate information, so we felt it was important to accurately represent the origin of this model.

Also called roll up banner stands or pull up banner stands, this style of banner display features a spring loaded roller that holds the banner under tension, and rolls it safely into the base for storage between uses. The Contender has a top rail with a metal panel strip with set screws for a secure connection to the banner. The bottom of the banner attaches with adhesive to a standard plastic leader.

The Contender comes in 4 different widths with a three section support pole to hold a 78" tall banner. Each size has an option of adding a 4th pole section to make a taller 105" banner. Comes complete with a padded travel bag with carry strap.

The Contender Monster displays a banner with a visible size of 47.5" x 77.5 with the standard pole, or 47.5" x 105" with the extra pole section. While the other sizes of Contender banner stands are available in either a silver or black finish, the Contender Monster is only available in black.

Looking for a higher-end model?

An upgrade from the Contender Monster would be the Expand MediaScreen XL 47, although it's a big step up and doesn't come in black. The QuickSilver Pro 48 is another option in a wide base stand without a swing out foot. The QuickSilver adds adjustable height from 35" to 96", adjustable tension, fabric leader with low profile velcro attachment for easier banner changes and greater reliability, and a deluxe suitcase style carry bag, and is less expensive.

Looking for a less expensive model?

The Metro 48 is a good choice for a less expensive stand in the same size, but it doesn't have an option for the 105" height.

The Universal LED Spotlight or Space LED Spotlight are the recommended lights for use with the Contender Monster and they can be found in the Related Products tab. The stand will be less stable at the 105" height when lights are used, so it's not recommended for use in high traffic areas where people may come in contact with the stand.
