Dibond

This aluminum composite board is made with two pre-painted sheets of .3mm aluminum with a solid polyethylene core for a 2mm total thickness. Dibond can be routed and bent into 3D shapes or used for flat graphics and sign faces.

The aluminum faces have a baked gloss white finish which makes them excellent for direct printing or for mounting of printed graphics. Excellent for indoor, or long term outdoor use, Dibond is popular for exhibits, display fabrication, signage, and POP displays. Dibond be routed and folded for 3D shapes. Available in 48” x 96” sheets.

Indoor longevity of 5-25 years, outdoor longevity of 2 to 5 years.

Favorite Features

Dibond is thin but strong and flat and cuts very cleanly when die cutting irregular shapes. It is impervious to weather and is suitable for long term outdoor use, so it's possible to mount prints on the board and change the prints while reusing the board. The smooth white faces are excellent for direct printing. They are eco-friendly when direct printed.

Drawbacks

Dibond has some flex, especially under wind loads. If installed as a sign face in routed channels, and the channels aren't deep enough to allow for this flex, the material can bend enough to come out of the channels.
